IFES is pleased to announce the holding of the Election Technology Conference and Vendor Exhibition from November 17-19, 2008 in Manila, Philippines.

IFES' Election Technology Conference and Vendor Exhibition will offer election suppliers the opportunity to showcase their wares to decision-makers and executives from election commissions throughout the Southeast Asia region. Over three days, conference attendees will have the opportunity to view the latest election equipment and supplies from international and local vendors, as well as to listen to presentations on international standards in the application of appropriate technology to electoral processes from leading experts on election administration and management.

This program is a unique opportunity for vendors to reach out to customers in a region where new election technologies are beginning to be introduced and applied. In the Philippines, particularly, the information gathered by the Commission on Elections and other officials will inform the decision on the type and specifications for a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a nationwide automation of the Philippine elections in 2010, anticipated to be issued later this year.

In addition to the Philippines, officials from countries throughout the Southeast Asia region are expected to attend this important event.
