Abigail Wilson, Deputy Director for Africa, has worked with IFES since 2006 overseeing projects in Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. IFES' work in Africa expands beyond the traditional realm of election support, into strengthening civil society networks, combating corruption and surveying public opinion on the electoral process.

Prior to IFES, Wilson worked at Save the Children as part of emergency response teams in Iraq and Aceh, Indonesia, and led community development and conflict prevention projects in Azerbaijan. She was also a WorldTeach volunteer in Namibia, teaching science at a secondary school.

Wilson holds a Master’s Degree in French from Middlebury College and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development from the School for International Training.
