Political Finance Regulation: The Global Experience offers insight into how the often-muddy intersection between money and politics can be regulated, taking into account the experiences of various countries around the world. The concept for the book arose from the two-plus years of IFES’ work on a United Nations Democracy Fund project aimed at establishing global standards for political finance.

Promoting political integrity through the establishment of transparent and accountable systems of political finance and public ethics is a priority in emerging, consolidating, and established democracies. Recognizing that each environment requires a unique approach, IFES partners with international organizations and works with all key in-country stakeholders – government institutions, political parties, civil society groups, media, and scholars – in a collaborative and holistic manner to support effective and appropriate transparency and accountability measures.

Political Finance BRIDGE Module:

On November 5, 2010 the Political Finance BRIDGE Module was officially endorsed by all of the BRIDGE partners following consultations. Developed by IFES in collaboration with International IDEA, the idea for the module grew out of a recognized need for capacity building of electoral stakeholders specifically in political finance.
