Project In Brief

Since 2008, IFES has provided technical assistance to the Independent Election Commission (IEC) of Afghanistan through the Support to the Electoral Process in Afghanistan (STEP) project. This includes providing strategic advice and operational support to IEC departments in election administration, voter registration, electoral planning and operations, electoral security, public outreach, strategic planning, asset management, budgeting, human resource development, gender mainstreaming and on-the-spot assistance for jobs like translating documents.
