Women in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands suffer from discrimination and gender violence, and lack the political power to improve their situation. Working with local women’s organizations, IFES launched Women Advocating for Voices in Government (WAVIG) to increase the participation and representation of women in politics by building their capacity to influence decision makers and advocate for equality.
