Project In Brief

IFES encourages pluralistic and issue-based (rather than personality-based) politics – characteristics lacking from most former-Soviet countries. To that end, in early 2010, IFES held multiple trainings in Tajikistan for political parties on message and platform development, as well as campaigning and public outreach. IFES also organized televised candidate/political party debates in order for parties to disseminate their messages and improve their professional capacity. After the February vote, IFES held additional workshops with parties to evaluate their experience and to discuss regional development.
