Announcing final election results in Lebanon

    MENA

Transition to democracy can be a very slow process, but the events of early 2011 have shown how suddenly the political climate of a nation can change. Project In Brief

IFES is working in Jordan to provide technical assistance to Jordanian election managers in pre and post election periods. IFES aims to build the capacity of election managers to conduct procedurally sound elections which meet international standards of freeness, fairness and transparency. Election managers will continue to build capacity and reinforce these procedures through internal staff trainings. The project also seeks to increase election managers' knowledge of international and comparative "best practices" in order to refine its election administration and procedures. The project currently runs through December 2009 and is funded by USAID.
