Project In Brief

IFES' work in Palestine focuses on strengthening the development of the electoral framework to solidify gains achieved within the electoral sphere. This addresses any outstanding weaknesses ensuring that upcoming elections are credible and improve the technical capacity of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission (CEC). Project goals are as follows: continuing education for CEC Staff; reform voter services; delimitation of local electoral districts; development of regulations to increase transparency of the CEC’s decision-making process; and commodity, service and technical support for electoral events.
