Rakesh Sharma, director of IFES’ F. Clifton White Applied Research Center, and Gavin Weise, IFES deputy director for Europe and Asia, will be speaking at "Change on the Horizon? Public Opinion in Ukraine before the 2010 Presidential Election: Presentation of Findings from IFES Annual Survey". The event, which will take place on January 6, 2010 from 3:30 to 5:30, will give insight into IFES’ latest survey in the country—"Public Opinion in Ukraine: Findings from an IFES 2009 Survey." Conducted in November 2009, the data reveals high levels of pessimism among the vast majority of Ukrainians about the state of socio-political affairs in the country, as well as disenchantment with political institutions in the country prior to the January election.
The event will be held in the 6th floor Flom auditorium. The Kennan Institute is located at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The address is One Woodrow Wilson Plaza, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW.
