IFES extends its deepest condolences to the people of Haiti. We have been following this tragic event closely and sympathize with the suffering of all Haitians and the international community in Haiti. We hope that the country is able to emerge from this catastrophic event as soon as possible.

"Haiti was the site of our first field office, which we opened twenty years ago. Since then, we have had the honor of working closely with many in Haiti. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire population at this trying time," says Bill Sweeney, President and CEO of IFES.

We are grateful that we have been able to account for our staff in Haiti and are working from Washington to provide as much help as possible under these circumstances.
