IFES is now accepting submissions for its democracy-themed 2010 photography contest. The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers. IFES encourages images of individuals supporting or participating in the electoral process, or photographs of efforts that demonstrate the value of institutions of democratic governance and citizen engagement.
There are two groups eligible for entry in this year's competition. The first is open to the public; the second is restricted to current IFES employees. One winner and as many as ten finalists will be named for each category. The winner of each category will receive $400 (USD).
Our goal running this contest is to profile the many ways individuals can demonstrate a sense of civic responsibility and call to action.
The deadline for entry is March 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
For more information, please see our press release or the webpage for the contest.
