The Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Committee, established by the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan in November 2009, is tasked with conducting a feasibility study into the introduction of EVMs in Pakistan. The committee includes senior members from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and electoral experts from IFES. As part of the feasibility study, three leading EVM solution providers traveled to Pakistan and demonstrated their products.

The EVM Vendor Demonstration was organized by the ECP, with help from IFES, and took place on 28-29 June 2010. It included representation from political parties, civil society and international stakeholders. The vendors presented details of their technology and products. They also answered queries related to technical aspects, the suitability of EVMs for Pakistan and how it would change the current election process. The event also included an open viewing of vendor equipment.
