Signed at the Australian Embassy in Washington, D.C. on November 5, 2012, the MoU aims to reach these goals through the hosting of events, conducting research, developing publications, promoting exchanges and implementing the Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE) professional development curriculum and training.

The document was signed by Australian Electoral Commissioner Ed Killesteyn and IFES President and CEO Bill Sweeney.
