As part of its Support for Electoral Reform in Pakistan (SERP) project, IFES has produced a series of factsheets highlighting various aspects of Pakistan’s electoral process. The factsheets are useful tools that provide important information on Pakistan’s electoral system to a wide audience. 

Despite the ongoing and escalating political violence, on April 20, Iraqi citizens will elect their representatives to Governorate (Provincial) Councils. These elections will be a good test-run for parliamentary elections scheduled in 2014. On April 14, with the death of former President Hugo Chávez on many minds, Venezuelans will cast their vote in a snap election for a new president. From August 17-29, 2012,  IFES partner Index Kosova conducted fieldwork and data processing to determine public opinion in Kosovo. The survey covered a sample size of 1,520 Kosovars and aimed to understand the adult population’s knowledge of key components of the election process; measure awareness on current electoral reform processes; analyze attitudes toward political participation; and measure citizen’s perceptions of the Central Election Commission.

Since April 2012, IFES has worked with the Tunisian nongovernmental organization I Watch, training them on political and campaign finance monitoring techniques and building advocacy strategies. Recently, I Watch completed its guide to monitoring campaign finance: Handbook on Campaign Finance in Tunisia: Issues and Monitoring. 

IFES conducted a survey of voting-age adults in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) through face-to-face interviews in the fall of 2012. The survey was designed to evaluate civic and voter education activities implemented in Kinshasa, Bas Congo, Nord Kivu and Province Orientale, as part of the IFES Voter Opinion and Involvement through Civic Education Plus (VOICE+)Project.
