Step by Step: Preventing Fraud in Elections

Poll workers and election observers can take a number of simple yet powerful steps to protect the integrity of the vote and promote trust in the electoral process. Together, these measures help deter and prevent fraud. These images from around the world show poll workers, observers and citizens working together to make elections transparent and credible. IFES launched the Future Leaders Club, a training program for women 18 to 25 years old who display a strong interest in political activism, in 2010. Two years later, the participants share their stories on how the program has helped them promote a more egalitarian view of society and win seats in parliament.
