Iran is holding its presidential election on June 14, 2013. Citizens will cast their ballots for one of eight approved presidential candidates, as well as local council leaders. Presidential candidates – which include a former Parliament speaker, diplomats, ministers, a nuclear negotiator and a military commander – were approved by the 12-member Guardian Council from a list of 686 hopefuls.
