Hybl Fellowship
2008 DEADLINE EXTENSION - POSTMARK APPLICATIONS BY MAY 14, 2008
The William and Kathy Hybl Fellowship, funded by the Chairman of the IFES Board of Directors William Hybl and his wife Kathy, awards up to two $5,000 Hybl Fellowships to bring outstanding graduate students from the Rocky Mountain region to Washington, D.C. to conduct research in democracy building.
Based at IFES' F. Clifton White Applied Research Center for Democracy and Elections, Fellows have access toIFES experts as well as IFES' internationally recognized collection of election-related research. Fellows conduct independent research at IFES mentors for 6 to 8 weeks and must complete a paper for presentation to the public or IFES colleagues.
The Hybl Fellowship is available for US or international graduate students attending universities in the US Rocky Mountain region (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming).
IFES is one of the only NGOs implementing democracy assistance programs that also has a focus on research and thus offers a unique blend of resources, contacts, and insights for its Fellows. Past fellows have found the Hybl Fellowship an excellent boost to their careers in international development or research, and left IFES with a variety of innovative white papers to showcase their talents.
