By Nadim Hasbani, Carnegie Middle East Center

On June 9, Richard Chambers, IFES Chief of Party in Lebanon, participated at a conference held by the Middle East Center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Beirut. Chambers gave an overview of the results of the fiercely-contested June 7 Lebanese parliamentary election that resulted in Hezbollah accepting defeat in a peaceful manner. His presentation provides results by districts, confessions and candidates. It also includes the number and percentage of votes, as well as a comparison to the 2005 outcome.
