Sept. 5: IFES Honored at Nigerian Security Awards: IFES will be honored at the third annual Security Watch Awards in Abuja for raising awareness on security and electoral violence issues in Nigeria.

Sept. 12: New Book Examines U.S. Election Disputes: The Resolution of Election Disputes explains in everyday terms how U.S. states treat irregularities in the election process and the probable outcomes of election challenges. The book will be launched 3 p.m. at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute, 3520 Prospect Street, NW, 4th Floor, Washington, D.C.

Sept. 20-25: IFES Conducts Training in Eastern Nepal: IFES will conduct Basic Election Administration Training for local and national election officers in Biratnagar, the first such training offered in Nepal’s eastern region.

Oct 15: Afro-Ecuadorians to Observe Elections: Afro-Ecuadorians will observe elections for the first time during the October 15 polls, with a project organized by IFES and its local partner, AFROAMERICA XXI. About 50 observers will work in at least three provinces to examine whether the rights of minority voters are respected. They will look at issues such as access to polling sites and acts of discrimination.
