Salaries

Salary ranges vary by position and are based on labor market surveys, including the Department of Labor statistics. Annual salary increases are merit based.

Vacation and Leave

Holidays

11 paid holidays per year

Paid Leave

15 days / first 2 years of employment; 20 days / 3 - 5 years; 25 days / 6 - 10 years; 30 days / 11 years and over. Employees are immediately vested in their paid leave as accrued each pay period.

Sick Leave and Personal Leave

96 hours sick leave per year for full-time employees Jan. 1 of each calendar year, prorated for new hires and part-time employees.

3 personal days per calendar year. Days prorated for new hires and part-time employees

Medical and Life Insurance

Health Insurance

IFES offers full coverage for employees from date of hire through PPO CIGNA Expatriate International Benefits (CEIB). (Prescriptions included with medical premiums). Employee is responsible for 20% of premiums.

Dental Insurance

IFES offers full coverage for employees with PPO CEIB dental plan. Employee is responsible for 20% of premiums.

Life Insurance and AD&D

Company-paid insurance benefits of 3 times the annual salary. AD&D benefits are also 3 times salary.

Disability Benefits

Short-Term Disability

Effective the 8th calendar day of disability. Company pays:

0-2 years of service:
1-30 days = 100% base salary
31-90 days = 50% base salary

2+ years of service:
1-90 days = 100% base salary

Long-Term Disability

Effective after 90 calendar days of disability. Benefits paid at 66 2/3% of base salary to a monthly maximum of $6,000.

Retirement

401(k) Plan

IFES provides eligible employees an optional plan to contribute to a 401(k) plan up to the legal annual limit. IFES will match 100% of first 6% of employee contribution. Employees are immediately fully vested in the plan.

TCN Retirement Service Plan (TCNRSP)

TCNRSP is a benefit policy regarding Third Country National’s and retirement contributions. Employees choosing to participate in the plan, must own a retirement-type account through a financial institution or participate in a government-sponsored, employee controlled retirement savings program. Eligibility: one year after hire date.

Other Benefits

Direct Deposit

Available for payroll and flexible spending account reimbursement.

Benefit Allowance

Full-time employees receive a $160 monthly Benefit Allowance to apply towards benefits. The Allowance is added directly to paycheck, and can be taken simply as additional compensation.

International Allowances and Differentials

IFES provides a variety of allowances and differentials for its International Employees, including:

  • Danger Pay paid at 100% of the maximum U.S. State Department DSSR Allowance
  • Post differential paid at 100% of the maximum U.S. State Department DSSR Allowance
  • Housing allowance based on U.S. State Department DSSR Allowance or the field market rate
  • 44 lbs. of excess baggage
  • Shipping: 250 lbs. air and/or 1500 lbs. surface
  • Up to US$1,500/year in storage of personal effects
  • Assignment Travel: 1 roundtrip ticket from origin to field office and back
  • R&R for assignments of 2 years or more.

Evacuation

Medical and security evacuation is provided by International SOS.
