Lebanon’s Local Elections 2010: Elections in North Lebanon

IFES has produced a briefing paper on the Fourth Round of Lebanon’s local elections to take place on May 30, 2010. The fourth and final round of local elections will be held in the muhafezat of North Lebanon, consisting of the six districts of Akkar, Batroun, Bcharreh, Koura, Menieh-Dennieh, Tripoli and Zgharta.

This briefing paper, like the one written for the Third Round of the local Lebanese elections, gives insight into which governmental bodies this election is for,  the number of candidates and how many of them are women, and the number of registered voters.

Previous rounds of elections were held on May 2 (in Mount Lebanon), on May 9 (in Bekaa and Beirut) and on May 23 (in South Lebanon and Nabatieh).
