As practitioners continue to improve on existing techniques to mitigate and manage the risk of electoral violence, more innovative approaches are also emerging. These approaches include looking at gender differences in electoral violence, leveraging social media and conflict-mapping techniques for early warning and response systems, and understanding how technologies that speed up results transmission and information-sharing can increase the credibility of election management bodies.
