On May 11, 2016, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), in partnership with Ukraine’s Central Election Commission (CEC), and through the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Global Affairs Canada, inaugurated the newly established joint IFES-CEC Administrative Center for Trainings of Election Process Participants. The Training Center, with ongoing IFES technical assistance, will provide training and capacity building support to Ukraine’s electoral officials and key electoral stakeholders (legal professionals, political parties, journalists, civil society representative, and election observers) nationwide. The facility, located within the CEC, will also be a key instrument for the CEC’s voter education and public communication efforts. Establishment of the Training Center will help institutionalize continuous capacity building and professional development for electoral stakeholders and election commission members at all levels in Ukraine.
