Alexandra Brown, Legal and Research Officer, Center for Applied Research and Learning
Alexandra Brown is a legal and research officer at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), where she contributes to research and supports IFES programming on democratic legal and regulatory frameworks, justice sector strengthening and anti-corruption work. She recently coordinated the development of a new IFES anti-corruption and anti-money-laundering curriculum for civil society in post-transitional societies.
Prior to joining IFES, she worked as a research associate at the Public International Law and Policy Group, where she focused on post-conflict constitution drafting, peace negotiations and transitional justice. She also served as a compliance officer at a humanitarian organization in Jordan and Iraq.
She holds a Juris Doctor and a master’s degree in international affairs from American University, a bachelor’s degree in Arabic and Islamic studies from San Diego State University and is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar.
