Hassan Nasir Mirbahar is the International Foundation for Electoral Systems' (IFES) Deputy Country Director of Libya. Hassan has more than 15 years of experience in democracy and governance, including work on electoral reform, election observation, electoral policy and legal analysis and social media and elections. He also has leadership and management experience on large democracy, human rights and governance focused programs, including with the UN Development Programme, the British Council, Democracy Reporting International and UN Women. Prior to joining IFES’ Libya program, Hassan has worked in Pakistan, Myanmar, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia and the 15 Pacific Island Nations.

Hassan has completed a master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratization from the University of Sydney Australia. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance) and a master’s degree in Economics from the Shah Abdul Latif University, Sindh, Pakistan and a Certificate in Constitution Building from the Central European University in Hungary.
