Suzanne Abdallah is the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) acting regional director for the Middle East and North Africa. She has 15 years of experience designing, managing, and implementing international development programs in the fields of democracy and governance, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and education. Before rejoining IFES, she worked at Management Systems International, managing M&E support contracts in Kenya and Ethiopia, as well as education projects in Lebanon and Egypt. Suzanne previously worked in the Middle East and North Africa division at IFES managing electoral assistance programs in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan and implementing regional inclusion programs supporting the civic and political engagement of women and persons with disabilities. From 2011-13, she was based in Cairo, Egypt, where she supported IFES’s programming following the 2011 revolution. Suzanne is a fully accredited Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections (BRIDGE) facilitator. She has trained civil society organizations across the region in the BRIDGE curriculum, M&E, and grants management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s degree in Middle Eastern studies from Harvard University.
