Elections in Panama: 2019 General Elections
On May 5, Panamanian citizens went to the polls to vote in presidential, legislative and local elections. These were the sixth general elections since the ousting of the Manuel Noriega dictatorship in 1989 and the first held under the reformed Electoral Code. On May 4, Panamanians will elect a President, Vice President, Deputies to the Central American Parliament, Deputies to the National Assembly, Mayors, District Representatives, and Councilors.
