The Integrity of Elections in Asia: Policy Lessons Applied
In response to a recent study by Max Grömping entitled The Integrity of Elections in Asia: Policy Lessons from Expert Evaluations, IFES produced a briefing paper with some examples of policy lessons applied in practice across Asia. IFES has worked in Asia for the past three decades supporting election management bodies, civil society and other electoral stakeholders in their efforts to promote electoral integrity.

IFES and Mexican National Electoral Institute Reaffirm Longstanding Partnership
On November 5, 2018, IFES President and CEO Anthony Banbury met with Dr. Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, chair of Mexico’s National Electoral Institute (INE), and they reaffirmed their mutual enthusiasm for continuing this strong partnership in which IFES and INE both learn from and provide support to each other’s work.

Strengths and Challenges of Mexico’s Electoral Reforms
From April 29 to May 5, 2018, IFES, with the support of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights, participated in a Mission of Technical Accompaniment in Mexico City to analyze the reforms, identify their strengths and anticipate the potential challenges the country will face during its 2018 electoral processes. From June 28 to July 1, the mission returned to Mexico City to conduct follow-up interviews and observations during Election Day on July 1, 2018.

Promoting Regional Cooperation in Latin America to Fight Fake News

Electoral Justice Assessment of the 2018 Mexican Elections
Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2017, IFES and the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch of Mexico are collaborating on research, program implementation, and the sharing of knowledge in mutual priority areas. As part of this collaboration, for the 2018 Mexican elections IFES will deploy two assessment missions, pre- and post-election, to examine electoral justice processes.
