Although the constitution of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) makes provisions for parity between men and women with a view to fair and equitable participation in the management of the city (Mbuji-Mayi), this participation remains only theoretical, despite the country’s ratification of treaties on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women.
