Marking International Day of Democracy 2019
Since 2007 when the United Nations General Assembly designated September 15th as the International Day of Democracy, organizations – governmental and nongovernmental – have joined with others to commemorate the importance of promoting and upholding principles of democracy. On this day, we lift our voices with other like-minded supporters of human freedom and dignity to raise public awareness about the power that citizens have to determine by whom, and how, they are governed.

Celebrating International Youth Day 2019 in Myanmar
On August 10, 280 young people gathered in Mandalay, Myanmar, to celebrate International Youth Day. Preliminary Electoral Results Transmission Document Presented to El Salvador’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal
On May 31, IFES delivered its final document on the 2019 transmission of preliminary electoral results (TREP) to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of El Salvador. The Integrity of Elections in Asia: Policy Lessons Applied
In response to a recent study by Max Grömping entitled The Integrity of Elections in Asia: Policy Lessons from Expert Evaluations, IFES produced a briefing paper with some examples of policy lessons applied in practice across Asia.
