Money and Elections in the Maldives
IFES conducted the first systematic nationwide survey of its kind in the Maldives. The survey was conducted to measure the prevalence of vote buying in the Maldives during the March 2014 parliamentary elections. This report begins with an announcement from The Great Alliance, a political grouping formed by the New Patriotic Party and the People’s Convention party. The announcement critiques the 1996 general elections in Ghana and discusses the successes and problems with the election.
