Since 1987, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) has worked in over 145 countries to advance good governance and democratic rights. Although IFES is not currently engaged in programming in this country, previous work, research and/or other relevant items are highlighted below.
“With Your Vote, One More Vote” is a flyer, available in Spanish, believed to be issued in 1999, in support of Joaquin Lavin, candidate in the 1999 Presidential Election in Chile. The flyer presents the objectives of Lavin’s campaign.
“Lagos” is a flyer, available in Spanish, issued in 2000 by supporters of Lagos, candidate in the 2000 Presidential Election in Chile. The flyer presents Lagos as the best candidate for the upcoming elections, promoting his image by appealing to what he plans to do in terms of employment, family, security, education and health reforms.
“We all Have a Dream” is a Christmas card, available in Spanish, sent out in 1999 by Ricardo Lagos, the candidate for the 2000 Presidential election in Chile, and his wife, Luisa Duran, in lead up to the 2000 Presidential Election in Chile. The card talks about the dreams every Chilean citizen has, such as free people, equality and a Great Chile.
“Observation of the Chilean Democratic System: Presidential and Parliamentary Elections for 1993” is a registration form for willing participants to take part in the Chilean election’s observation process, available in both English and Spanish, issued in 1993 by the PARTICIPA Corporation, Chile, in lead up to the December 11, 1993 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in Chile. The document provides the description of the activities participants would be involved with, as well as the program itinerary and the description of what is included in the total price.
