News and Updates Press Release IFES Announces Recipients of 2019 Democracy Award IFES will honor Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström, former United States Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright and former U.S. National Security Adviser Stephen J. Hadley with its 2019 Charles T. Manatt Democracy Award at a special ceremony on September 30, in Washington, D.C.
Since 1987, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) has worked in over 145 countries to advance good governance and democratic rights. Although IFES is not currently engaged in programming in this country, previous work, research and/or other relevant items are highlighted below.
News and Updates Feature Developing a New BRIDGE Module on Political Finance On May 18 – 19, 2009, IFES and International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance co-hosted a working group of political finance and BRIDGE experts to begin the development process for a new BRIDGE module on political finance. BRIDGE is a comprehensive curriculum on electoral processes. The gathering was held in Stockholm.
