Andrew Kolb
Andrew Kolb serves as IFES's Director of Strategic Communications and Advocacy. With over 16 years of experience across international non-profits, he carries out IFES's executive and organizational communications strategies, both at the headquarters and in the field. He also oversees audience engagement and digital strategy, producing content across our digital channels.
Kolb previously served as the Director of Communications at the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), where he led the organization's public-facing response to world events. He developed innovative storytelling initiatives, expanded media coverage, directed the transformation of website and digital channels, and led the organization through its successful rebranding. Prior to GMF, he served in multiple communications and marketing roles at Conservation International (CI), leading a wide range of projects, including the launch of award-winning Nature is Speaking brand campaign. Kolb's career began in China, where he worked as a teacher and editor.
He holds a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics from St. John's College of Annapolis, MD, USA and resides in Washington, D.C. with his three children and wife.
