Jean Schindler

Jean Schindler serves as the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Communications. She drives initiatives related to organizational strategy, operational performance, Board oversight, external engagement, and global communications, helping position IFES as a leader on democratic governance and elections globally. 

Schindler previously spent eight years at the National Endowment for Democracy, where she established and directed the Penn Kemble Forum on Democracy, a year-long program for young and mid-level foreign policy professionals to explore the intersection of democracy and geopolitics. She also has extensive experience advising nonprofit startups at the intersection of policy, strategy, and communications.

Schindler holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and an M.A. in diplomatic history from the London School of Economics.
