Kryticous Patrick Nshindano serves as the IFES Senior Elections Advisor to Malawi. He is a public policy and electoral management expert with over 18 years of senior leadership experience across the public, private, and civil society sectors. His professional expertise encompasses electoral and project management, policy analysis, governance and research. 

From 2019 to 2022, he served as Chief Electoral Officer at the Electoral Commission of Zambia, where he successfully managed the 2021 general elections, ensuring a smooth and peaceful transfer of government administration. Kryticous has also contributed to several international electoral observer missions, collaborating with organizations such as the Commonwealth, the Carter Center, and the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Notably, he led the Commonwealth Expert Observation Team during the 2023 elections in the Kingdom of Eswatini. 

Kryticous has held significant regional and international leadership roles, including serving as the CEO’s Chairperson for the Electoral Commission Forum of the Southern African Development Community (ECF-SADC) and as the Southern Africa Regional Representative for the Global Civil Society Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE). Kryticous has also contributed to various high-level boards, notably serving as Chairperson of the Operations and Technical Committee for the Millennium Challenge Account Zambia and as a member of the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) External Advisory Panel on Social Safeguards. Additionally, he has provided expert policy and technical support to numerous local and international organizations, including the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (UN-DPPA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), the Commonwealth, the National Democratic Institute (NDI), the SNP/Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). 

Kryticous is a PhD candidate in Business and Management. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, a Master's in Electoral Policy and Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and a professional certificate in Post-Legislative Scrutiny.
