Neembucu pide fuentes de trabajo y quiere superar aislamiento
“Neembucu Requests Work Sources and wants to Overcome Isolation” is a periodical article, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “ABC” newsletter in Paraguay and intended to familiarize voters with the 1998 Paraguayan General Election. The guidebook contains voter registration instructions to help Paraguayan citizens understand the steps they need to take to ensure a correct voter registration that would allow them to vote.

“Informative Guide about 1997 Registration” is a voter guide, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay as part of the voter participation drive program. The guide instructs all eligible voters on the procedures to be followed when registering, such as the documents required and place and time of registration. The voter guide is meant to stimulate voters to register in order to be able to exercise their right to vote.

Guia Ciudadana del Municipio
“Citizen’s Guide about the Municipality” ” is a civic education handbook, available in Spanish, issued by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay and intended to familiarize Paraguayans with the general aspects of a municipality. The handbook explores the importance of the municipal government; it describes what a municipality consists of, its functions and the relation between the central government and the municipal government. It also describes the attributions of the municipal council and how citizens can participate in the decision making process.

Truth Talk
This is the November 1996 edition of South Africa’s “Truth Talk,” a publication of the country’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The magazine focuses on reparations for civil rights violations of the past and includes a piece by Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu, the Commission’s chairperson. There is also a section on individuals’ reactions to the work of the Commission. A second topic of this magazine was the granting of amnesty to South African’s who had perpetrated human rights violations while under orders. This piece was published two years after the 1994 elections in South Africa, the first to feature universal adult suffrage.
