Representation in the Federal Parliament
“Representation in the Federal Parliament” is a Canadian booklet that was published in 1986, an off year for federal elections. The booklet’s object was to describe the “principal of representation” and how the “electoral districts' boundaries are determined and periodically adjusted.” The literature is broken into two sections, the first section discusses the various adjustments to the representation of the ten provinces and two territories of Canada; the second section describes the readjustment process for the electoral districts' boundaries. There are French and English language versions of the booklet.

“Student Government Report” is a student government report, available in Spanish, issued in 1987 by the newly elected student government body of the Joaquin Lizano Gutierez High school in Heredia, Costa Rica. The report describes the preparation and execution of a student electoral process and presents the names of the officers of the government body. Additionally, it includes children’s attitudes and experiences, as seen by teachers, in the organizing of the elections for the student government.

“Student Electoral Process” is an informative document, available in Spanish, issued in 1987 by the Clodomiro Picado T. Institute of Education in Turrialbe, Costa Rica. The document describes the way the student electoral process takes place, with its functioning structures and the responsibilities of each one of them. The student electoral process was part of a mandatory student activity program implemented by the Ministry of Public Education and intended to stimulate student participation and understanding of the electoral system.

Election expenses and you
This document contains versions of the pamphlet “Election Expenses and You.” Published in 1987 and 1992 these documents provide information on tax credits for campaign contributions, campaign finance disclosure and political party registration. In 1987 Canada held provincial elections in New Brunswick, the Northwest Territories, and Ontario and a municipal election in Québec. There was a constitutional referendum in 1992 but the next general elections were not until 1993 when Canada held its federal elections on October 25th. French and English versions of the pamphlets are included.
