The document was published in lead up to the October 1995 elections in Tanzania. These elections were significant because they were the first multiparty elections since the nation’s independence in 1962. The literature provides detailed descriptions of the electoral process and of electoral law to voters who otherwise were unaware of the nuances of a multiparty democratic election.
