Regional Director on “The Elections We Want” in Africa
As part of its annual report, the Wilson Center Africa Program asked IFES Regional Director for Africa Rushdi Nackerdien to contribute an essay on recent African elections. His piece, “The Elections We Want,” covered 2017 elections in Angola, Rwanda, Liberia, Senegal, the Gambia, and Kenya, and their implications for election practitioners moving forward.

“Training Guide for Table Agents” is a table agent training guide, available in Spanish, issued in 1988 by IDEAS in Costa Rica, in lead up to the 1988 Referendum in Costa Rica. The guide outlines the responsibilities of the table agents assigned to aid during the plebiscite. The guide describes the tasks to be performed by the table agents as well as the materials that would be used on the day of the Referendum.

“Student Electoral Process” is an informative document, available in Spanish, issued in 1987 by the Clodomiro Picado T. Institute of Education in Turrialbe, Costa Rica. The document describes the way the student electoral process takes place, with its functioning structures and the responsibilities of each one of them. The student electoral process was part of a mandatory student activity program implemented by the Ministry of Public Education and intended to stimulate student participation and understanding of the electoral system.
