Une caravane de la paix en Guinée
Depuis mardi 15 juin et jusqu’au lundi 19 juin, des Guinéennes sillonnent leur pays au sein de la « Caravane de la paix ». Leur objectif est de promouvoir et d’apaiser les esprits avant les premières élections démocratiques qui se tiendront le 27 juin prochain. Plusieurs mouvements de la société civile et l’IFES, la Fondation internationale pour les systèmes internationaux, sont à l’origine de cette initiative. La République de Guinée, depuis décembre 1990 a pris option pour un mode d’organisation de sa société, fondé sur le libéralisme économique et politique. Le régime politique qui a été mis en place en Guinée dans le cadre de la Loi Fondamentale du 23 décembre 1990, renforcé par la Loi Constitutionnelle du 11 novembre 2001, est celui présidentiel avec une large prépondérance du Président de la République, Chef de l’Exécutif.

IFES Returns to Work with Liberia's National Elections Commission
IFES has been awarded a five‐year cooperative agreement by USAID to support various upcoming elections in Liberia: the constitutional referendum, by‐elections, and national and local elections. These polls are of particular importance because of their central role in supporting the country’s continued transition from a devastated, conflict‐torn nation to one that is slowly building the democratic systems, institutions, and processes needed to promote long‐term stability and development.

Political Finance in Post-Conflict Societies
This study of political finance in post-conflict society identifies lessons learned from international donor-funded efforts to support political processes in post-conflict environments in general and the funding of political parties and campaign finance in particular. The document consists of eight case studies that seek to improve our understanding not only of the political dynamics of post-conflict situations but also of how to rally international support for holding elections and supporting democratization under such circumstances.
