Understanding the Proposed Kyrgyz Parliament
On April 26, 2010, the Interim Government of Kyrgyzstan, which took control of the country following early April protests that drove former president Kurmanbek Bakiyev from office, unveiled a new draft constitution that will be finalized and officially presented on May 20. A referendum will take place in June 27 in which the population will be able to vote “yes” or “no” in favor of adopting this new charter.

“It is Our Decision to Participate and Vote” is a civic education discussion guidebook, available in Spanish, believed to be issued in the 1990s by the National Registrar of Civil State, Colombia. The guidebook encourages citizens to participate and vote while offering various options for participation. Additionally, the guidebook includes surveys and an evaluation.

“Building a Safer Country for All” is a civic education discussion guidebook, available in Spanish, issued by the Department of Political Science within the University of the Andes, Colombia. The guidebook is intended to encourage community participation in the effort to reduce violence and crime in Colombia through various means such as increasing the programs of social development, educating people in the spirit of civic and moral values, to stimulate young people to take part in community activities and/or to strengthen the judicial system and reform the police. Additionally, the guidebook contains some surveys.
