“Your Right to Chose” is a civic education flyer, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 in Paraguay in lead up to the May 10, 1998 Paraguayan General and Departmental Elections. Manual para Miembros de Mesas Receptoras de Votos
“Guide for the Members of the Polling Stations” is an informative manual, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the Superior Tribunal of Electoral Justice in Paraguay in lead up to the May 10, 1998 General Elections. The manual is intended to instruct the members of the polling stations on their duties during the elections in order to ensure an adequate and transparent development of the electoral occurrences. The guidebook contains general information about the upcoming elections and the structure of the polling station, and information on the proceeding before, during, and after the elections.

Neembucu pide fuentes de trabajo y quiere superar aislamiento
“Neembucu Requests Work Sources and wants to Overcome Isolation” is a periodical article, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “ABC” newsletter in Paraguay and intended to familiarize voters with the 1998 Paraguayan General Election. The article contains a page dedicated to the process of voting. Additionally, it presents the candidates for the governor’s office and the deputies’ office from the Neembucu district.

The poster contains election-oriented information, such as the time and place of voting, what are voters voting for as well as the voting procedures.

Daraja Update
This November 1997 issue of “Daraja” touches on the struggle to achieve civic elections in Kenya and promoting democracy and good governance in Africa. The lead article focuses on the effort to enhance civic education and elections in the midst of executive governmental power that is not in favor of promoting political participation or expanding democracy. The second major piece describes the pathway to achieving peace in Africa and six major impediments to achieving strong democracy in the region. The challenges presented by the article to developing democracy in Africa are overcoming violence, sound democracy development managment, enhancing the role of civil society, mainstreaming women into politics, increasing the capacity of African institutions that allow for democracy development and developing an ownership of democratic reforms in order to bring about demcoracy that fits the region and culture that it will be governing.
