A Week in Cambodia
IFES’ Women’s Leadership program, conducted in five provinces across Cambodia the spring of 2011, sought to increase women’s personal development and leadership skills and knowledge of the election process. During the week of 14-21 September, some of the participants joined IFES staff in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to discuss what they have learned. This week coincided with the Pchum Ben festival, during which Cambodians pay their respect to deceased relatives, and the 2011 voter registration period, which IFES witnessed. Sierra Leone Votes in National Elections
Presidential and Parliamentary Elections were held in Sierra Leone on August 11, 2007. National and International Election Observers were present to monitor the vote for free and fair results. Despite bad weather, citizens arrived early, and eagerly voted within the regulated precincts.

This series of 12 note cards, published in 2007 in South Africa, were designed to facilitate discussion based workshops. The cards present everyday scenarios involving topics and situations such as urban civics, the workplace and youth in South Africa. Those circumstances are also accompanied by discussion questions that frame the topic and scene with in the context of the South African constitution and civil society.

Political Finance in Post-Conflict Societies
This study of political finance in post-conflict society identifies lessons learned from international donor-funded efforts to support political processes in post-conflict environments in general and the funding of political parties and campaign finance in particular. The document consists of eight case studies that seek to improve our understanding not only of the political dynamics of post-conflict situations but also of how to rally international support for holding elections and supporting democratization under such circumstances.
