Djibouti: 2005 Pre-Election Assessment Report
In March and April 2005, a four-person team from IRI and IFES sought to evaluate the election environment in Djibouti, meeting with representatives of political parties, civil society groups, media, other international organizations, and relevant government bodies. Through these interviews and observations, the team examined voter registration and election administration processes, as well as the presence and level of external electoral assistance.

Democracy, Economy and Gender In Uganda: A Report of a National Sample Survey
In the run-up to Uganda's referendum of June 2000, a national survey was conducted of a representative cross-section of 2271 adult Ugandan citizens. The survey covered all four regions of the country (northern, eastern, central and western), including 36 of the 45 administrative districts. The purpose of the survey was to assess popular attitudes to democracy, economy, civil society and gender.

This 1995 pre-election assessment in Uganda was conducted under core funding from the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This report evaluates a number of factors affecting the conduct of that country's presidential and parliamentary elections, which were held prior to the second week of July 1996.

Republic in Transition: 1995 Elections in Tanzania and Zanzibar, IFES Observation Report
The goal of the report is to make a positive contribution to both the domestic and international audiences' understanding of the Zanzibar and Tanzania elections, so that a more accurate evaluation can be made of the fairness and legitimacy of the 1995 electoral process, and so that procedural problems and systemic weaknesses can be identified for correction in future multiparty elections in Tanzania.
