Las Elecciones Congesionales y Municipales y La Participation Ciudadana
“The Congressional and Municipal Elections and the Citizen Participation” is an informational booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic, in lead up to the May 1998 Congressional and Municipal Elections in the Dominican Republic. In the first chapter of the booklet one can find the description of the Dominican Electoral System and its history, the meaning of the attributes of voting, and an insight into the role of the electoral authorities. The second chapter thoroughly describes the upcoming 1998 Municipal and Congressional Elections, while the next two chapters explain the role of citizens’ participation through the act of voting in the decision-making process of the Dominican society. Additionally, the booklet contains a table with the numbers of officials to be elected for each locality.

“General Statutes: Citizens’ Participation” is an informational brochure, available in Spanish, believed to be issued in 1997 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The brochure describes the general ordinances for membership and internal activities of the civic movement organization called “Citizen Participation.” The brochure is comprised of six chapters indicating the goals, membership, structure and general dispositions of the organization, followed by a lay out of the declaration of principles that stand at the organization’s foundation of functioning.

Democratizacion de la Cultura y las Practicas Politicas: Plan de Trabajo de Participacion Ciudadana 1997-2002 (plus statements, letters from 1998)
“Democratization of the Political Culture and Practices: Work Plan of the “Citizen Participation” 1997-2002” is an informational brochure, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The brochure contains the attributes of the work plan the “Citizen Participation” movement is trying to achieve during 1997-2002. The work plan reflects the goal of the civic education group to democratize the political culture while creating a conscientious and informed community. Additionally, attached to the document are statements and letters discussing the history of previous elections and the present efforts to implement electoral observation; the concern and commitment to maintain minimum female quota law in the 1998 Congressional and Municipal Elected officials.

“Citizens’ Network of Electoral Observers: Memories of 1996” is an informational booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1996 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The booklet describes the formation and functioning of a citizen-based election observer network for the 1996 Presidential Election in the Dominican Republic. The three chapters focus on the context the network of observers emerged from, the creation and the structure of the network, as well as the role it had in the election observing process.

Crezi Ca Votul Tau nu Conteaza
“Do You Think Your Vote does not count?” is a voter brochure developed in 1996, available in both Romanian and English, by the Pro Democracy Association in lead up to the June 2, 1996 Local Elections in Romania and intended to stimulate people to exercise their right to vote. The brochure contains a description of the local offices to be elected by the voters: the Mayor, the Local Council, and the Regional Council. Additionally, it contains information about voting instructions and voter registration as well as it includes a list of the irregularities that could be detected during the voting process and how to deal with them when needed.

“No Voting=No Speaking” is a voter pamphlet, available in Romanian, issued in 1996 by the Pro Democracy Association in lead up to the 1996 Parliamentary and Presidential Elections in Romania. The pamphlet is intended to stimulate people to express their right to vote. The pamphlet depicts a person having his mouth zipped up, thus the title of the pamphlet.
