Regional Director on “The Elections We Want” in Africa
As part of its annual report, the Wilson Center Africa Program asked IFES Regional Director for Africa Rushdi Nackerdien to contribute an essay on recent African elections. His piece, “The Elections We Want,” covered 2017 elections in Angola, Rwanda, Liberia, Senegal, the Gambia, and Kenya, and their implications for election practitioners moving forward.

Armenia Final Report
This report describes the details from IFES efforts to strengthen Armenia’s democratic structures from 1997 to 2002. The report discusses the development of election legislation, IFES support for the Central Election Commission and support for the overall electoral process and conduct of elections. The report further details the relationships formed by IFES with local and international NGOs, the development of an election resource center and election materials produced by the IFES team.

“Electoral Tribunal” is an informative guide, available in Spanish, issued in 1999 by the Electoral Tribunal of Panama in lead up to the May 2, 1999 Panamanian General Elections. The guide consists of different forms provided for the electoral observers where they can include information and/or observation about the Election Day that would allow for a technical study of all comments from the observers and would facilitate the elaboration of the statement regarding the process of voting. Additionally, the document contains a statement regarding the cancellation of the use of electronic voting in the May 2, 1999 elections. Lastly, an evaluation of the voting sections and their flaws are provided in the guide.
