“People and Politics: Who Should Govern?” is a civic education discussion book, issued in 1992 by the US Kettering Foundation and translated and adapted to Portuguese by the State University of Ponta Grossa, Brazil. The handbook is intended to educate voters about the importance of voting and express their opinions through the power of one vote. The handbook explores four options with a series of opinions on how to tighten the relationship between politics and the people. Additionally, in the beginning and the end of the book, there are some questionnaires provided to facilitate the understanding of the people’s overall opinion of their relation with the government.

This report summarizes an IFES conducted pre-election technical assessment in Tunisia in late 1993, prior to the parliamentary elections in March 1994. The report makes several recommendations including changes to electoral laws, consolidating the administration of elections into an independent authority, greater political openness and lengthening the period of political campaigning.

“The Power of Your Vote” is an informational handbook, available in Portuguese, issued in 1994 by the Center for Constructing the Popular Image, in lead up to the October 3, 1994 General Election in Brazil. The handbook is intended to familiarize voters with the electoral process in Brazil, from learning about the candidates in order to make the appropriate decision to the actual day of the election when the voting itself is done.
