The Integrity of Elections in Asia: Policy Lessons Applied
In response to a recent study by Max Grömping entitled The Integrity of Elections in Asia: Policy Lessons from Expert Evaluations, IFES produced a briefing paper with some examples of policy lessons applied in practice across Asia. IFES has worked in Asia for the past three decades supporting election management bodies, civil society and other electoral stakeholders in their efforts to promote electoral integrity.

The political violence following Bangladesh's historic December 2008 parliamentary election shows that the use of aggression as a political tool is still prevalent; political parties are instrumental to its eradication, finds a report released today by the human rights group Odhikar and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

This pre-election technical assessment regarding the October 2001 parliamentary elections in Bangladesh details the IFES team's aim to identify interventions that could build confidence and possibly create inducements for the opposition to reengage in the election process. “The Electoral Crimes?” is an informative brochure, available in Spanish, issued in 2000 by the Federal Electoral Institute in Mexico, in lead up to the July 2, 2000 Mexican General Elections. The brochure names a series of possible electoral crimes and it encourages the denouncement of such. Additionally, it briefly describes the concept of free and secret voting.
