“Voters’ Registration News” is a special feature published by the Electoral Commission of Ghana in September 1995 in preparation for the 1996 presidential and parliamentary elections. This article explains the new registration process and provides general election and voting information including an illustrated step-by-step process of the new voter registration. This article was funded by Supporting the Electoral Process (STEP) with a grant from USAID and IFES.

Situacion Juridica de la Mujer
“The Legal Situation of Women” is an informative handbook, available in Spanish, issued in 1995 by the Popular Legal Support Center in Panama. The handbook presents a thorough description of the women’s project implemented by the Popular Legal Support Center. The description covers the specific steps taken towards the implementation of the program through the diagnosis of the women’s situation in Panama. A certain number of women of all backgrounds were key elements of the study that helped detect the factors that affect the overall knowing and use of rights by women. The handbook contains the conclusions of the study and tables that justify the outcome of the diagnosis, as well as it presents an analysis on the legal situation of women, specifically in the labor field.

This report was presented at the Women for Social Progress Movement's Voter Education Seminar in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on November 18, 1995. The report discusses voter's rights and responsibilities, women's issues in the 1990, 1992, and 1993 parliamentary and presidential elections, as well as a summary of data gathered on voter education.

Las Conquistas Juridicas de las Mujeres
“Women’s Juridical Conquests” is a civic education handbook, available in Spanish, issued in 1995 by Olga Caballero Aquino and Rafael Denida on behalf of CEPEM and it is meant to familiarize readers with the juridical achievements attained by women throughout time. The handbook briefly lists the situation of women from all around the world, from the ancient times until present days, and later goes on to describe the juridical situation of women in Paraguay.

This flyer urges women to vote in the 1994 election. The flyer indicates that issues such as better health care, maternity leave, affordable housing, and protection for one’s children are all relevant matters that can be addressed through voting and the democratic process.
